about the baithak

a baithak is a sitting room — the corner of the house where the day is talked over slowly, with nowhere else to be. this one belongs to bodhi.kids, a small daily practice that schools have signed on for and their children have not yet begun. the baithak is its evening room, written for the adults.

three small things arrive here each day: a word in the morning, a sitting in the evening, a last diya at night. each is short on purpose. there is nothing to keep up with, nothing to fall behind on, and the room always says when it is resting.
