reading needs no account

you can read everything here without signing in, and anonymous reading stores nothing about you on our side. if you keep cards on your shelf without an account, that shelf lives in your own browser's storage, on your device, not with us.

what we store, and only if you use it

if you sign in, your account is the same bodhi.kids account you use at app.bodhi.kids — the phone number you sign in with is its identity. while signed in, we store the cards you keep on your shelf, the cards you mark as having stayed with you, and the letters you send us. letters can be read only by you and by the founders who answer them; your shelf and your marks are visible to you alone.

if you ask for the sunday digest, we store the email address you give us. an address given without an account is held unconfirmed until you confirm it from your inbox; we do not send the digest to unconfirmed addresses. unsubscribing is one tap and takes effect immediately. to have your address removed entirely, write to us at info@bodhi.kids.

we also keep aggregate daily counts — how many times a day's beat or a card was seen, saved, marked, or shared, as a single number per day. these counts identify no one: there is no record of who, and none of when beyond the day.

what we never do

no advertising, no third-party trackers, no pixels, no fingerprinting, and no sale or sharing of your data. the reading pages load nothing from third parties; the sign-in page alone speaks to our sign-in provider, and only to verify your number. when you share a card, we count only that a share button was tapped — we never know, and never ask, who you shared it with.

cookies and storage

one cookie exists here, and only after you sign in: your session. your theme preference (daylight or evening) and your device shelf stay in your browser's own storage. we send no notifications and never ask the browser for permission to.

deletion and your rights

deleting your bodhi.kids account deletes your shelf, your marks, and your letters with it — the deletion process you already have at app.bodhi.kids covers this room too. to ask about your data, correct it, or have it removed, write to info@bodhi.kids.
