tonight's question — what tipped you, what leveled you
A two-part question for the last table of the week — what tipped you over this week? and what set you level again?
Both halves, from everyone. The tipping answers come easily — the surprise test, the cancelled plan, the friend who sat with someone else, the printer at work. Receive them without fixing; that rule is old now at this table.
The second half is the real cargo. What set you level? A walk. The younger one's nonsense at exactly the right moment. Rain on the balcony. Saying it out loud to someone who just listened. Watch what happens as the answers go around: the family is exchanging its balance recipes — openly, without a single word of advice being administered.
A child who hears four different people name four different ways back to level has been handed a toolkit no single lecture could deliver — and has learnt the deeper fact underneath: everyone at this table tips. Even the tall ones. Level is not a talent some people are born with; it is a place everyone returns to, each by their own stairs.
Ask, answer, and let the week close on the second half of the question rather than the first.
