At the table tonight — whose good day did you see today? Not yours. Someone else's.

A friend who finally got picked. The teacher in an unexplained good mood. The chaiwala outside school who was singing.

If your child says "nobody's," take it as an honest answer, not a wrong one. Noticing other people's weather is a skill, and it starts the day someone asks the question.

You answer too. It does the child good to learn that you noticed the watchman's daughter got her result, and that it made your day slightly better for no reason that benefits you.
